Let. Them. Come.

I know that everyone is reeling from the events of last week. The murder of Renee Good, the subsequent flat out lying from the Trump Administration, and the justification of complacent supporters has led to the absolute free fall into unchecked excessive force. ICE has NO jurisdiction over US citizens, yet here we are. They are able to detain and abuse citizens with impunity if that citizen protests, is a woman, is a vet, is gay, records and they don’t like it (even though that is absolutely within that citizens rights), or they just don’t like that they are there.

I wish I had more words of comfort and I have a few at the end but for the moment I am going to say some really uncomfortable things because I’d rather say them and they end up being unnecessary than not say them and people are unprepared.

Here’s what I do know- ICE will continue to escalate violence against protestors. This is not the first time the US, or law enforcement has done it but it’s the first time it’s being caught in real time thanks to cell phones and social media. It will escalate, it will get worse, people will get hurt and killed. THAT SAID, we need to protest and boycott more fervently than ever. Hear my physical voice when I say this, if you don’t fight now you may lose your chance to. We have to decide what world we want to live in and what we want to be remembered for. Show up to protests, protest peacefully and repeatedly, find out where ICE is, play music, blow whistles and above all FILM THEM. We are going to need that footage for criminal trials.
